Retail4Impact: 2025 Retailers & Partners
Introducing the Front Running Coalition of Retail4Impact Retailers & Partners in 2025
Front Running Coalition of Retailers & Companies
The Retail4Impact initiative is supported by a frontrunning coalition of leading retailers and global brands, committed to transforming how sustainability information is communicated to consumers.
Since March 2025, the Retail4Impact initiative has enabled 8 leading retailers and brands across key emerging markets (e.g. Brazil, China, the Russian Federation) to lead by example by developing and/or strengthening at least one of their product green claims in line with the principles of the UNEP Guidelines on Product Sustainability Information.
This initiative was eye-opening. It gave us the clarity and practical guidance we needed to communicate our environmental efforts with honesty and accuracy, and to avoid the pitfalls of greenwashing.

Local, Regional & Global Coalitions and Associations Powering Retail4Impact
The initiative is further strengthened by the engagement of over 30 partners, ranging from retail or consumer associations, business networks, certification schemes, research institutes, universities and NGOs who provide tailored support on product sustainability information at national, regional, and global levels.
Their collective expertise ensures context-specific guidance, alignment with policy and market realities, and broad-based momentum for credible and impactful consumer communication.
As a supporting partner and coordinator of the China Taskforce of Retail4Impact, China Chain Store & Franchise Association(CCFA) has been actively engaging retail enterprises in China to join this global effort to enhance the credibility of product sustainability claims.
