Circular Built Environment: Global Vision and Action
The legacy of the Sustainable Buildings and construction programme of the One Planet Network (OPN) continues as Circular Built Environment (CBE) working group of the Materials Hub, hosted by the Global ABC managed through a partnership between the One planet Network, the GlobalABC and the Life Cycle initiative.

CBE is led by the Ministry of the Environment of Finland, RMIT university from Australia and Habitat for Humanity International.
Mission
CBE aims to help governments and other stakeholders across the world in:
CBE focus areas
The scope of CBE is global and it promotes circularity in the buildings and construction sector. CBE works with the following three thematic action areas: 1) efficient use of existing buildings, 2) reuse and recycling of building materials and 3) long service life in new construction.

CIRCULAR BUILT ENVIRONMENT ACTION GROUP
The CBE Action group gives strategic direction to the working group. CBE co-leads and CBE Action group member organizations lead individual tasks and projects and report back on the progress in the quarterly CBE Action group calls. CBE Action group member organizations are: UNEP, Ministry of the Environment Finland, RMIT university, Habitat for Humanity International, World Business Council for Sustainable Development, World Green Building Council, UNOPS, UN-Habitat, University of Cape town and ENERGIES2050.
