The Glen Mhor Hotel

The Glen Mhor Hotel & Uile-Bheist Distillery and Brewery are located in Inverness in the HIghlands of Scotland.  We are dedicated to sustainable tourism and this commitment is at the heart of our business and central to both our daily planning and future developments as we look to minimise our impact on the environment around us.

Having invested £8 million into Scotland's first River Source Energy Centre, we are proud to be leading the way which has allowed us to remove gas from our entire site, provide all the heating and water for both the hotel and for our delicious whisky and beer products.  With Solar PV on the roof we have also reduced our electrical grid use.

We have a robust green vision and policy and equally committed to staff development and understanding - which we see as key to the success of all our projects as we look to not only future proof our businesses but to ensure that we are actively doing everything we can to become carbon neutral and support both our teams and environment.

Commitments:

As a family business we are dedicated to sustainable tourism and this commitment is at the heart of our business and central to both our daily planning and future developments as we look to minimise our impact on the environment around us.   The Glen Mhor is proud to be leading the way with the building of a Geothermal Energy Centre which will supply all the hot water heating and water to the Glen Mhor, allowing the removal of all gas and will be the first of its kind in Scotland - saving over 200 tonnes of Carbon each year.  We have also added solar panels (with a plan to add more within the next three years) and have transformed how we operate to include a robust green policy and investing in staff training and awareness to ensure that over the next few years, we continue to make huge strides in reducing our carbon footprint.
