Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism
The climate crisis is a pressing global issue with far reaching implications. The Maldives is one of the countries on the front line of climate change. Following the publication of the Maldives Tourism Climate Action Plan in August 2023 we are now in a position to effectively create our own action plan that dovetails into the destination plan and supports the Glasgow Declaration, prioritizing the following:
Carbon Of setting: Measuring and working to reduce carbon emissions on all our tour products.
Conservation: Supporting local conservation projects, promoting responsible snorkeling and diving practices, and preserving the Maldives' unique marine life and coral reefs.
Community Engagement: Collaborating with local communities to preserve and promote environmental assets such as mangroves and sea grass beds,
Education: Educating our guests on responsible tourism practices and the importance of preserving the environment and local culture.
Advocacy: Active participation in initiatives that promote sustainable tourism, fostering partnerships to further our impact.
