In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Il Bottaccio Relais & Chateaux commits to:

  • Eliminating problematic and/or unnecessary plastic from food & drink services and service areas by 2024 and from kitchens by 2025.
  • Introducing reuse models or reusable alternatives in rooms and service areas by 2024, and in kitchens and food & drink services by 2025. 
  • Engaging the value chain to provide data on recyclability and compostability of plastic packaging to facilitate the move towards 100% of plastic packaging to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable by 2025 by engaging suppliers, engaging regulators, establishing procurement criteria, and setting a 2025 target.
  • Taking action to increase recycled content across all plastic packaging and items by 2025 by engaging suppliers, engaging regulators, establishing procurement criteria, and setting a 2025 target.
  • Collaborating and investing in increasing recycling and composting rates by providing training to staff on waste sorting, and engaging business and key stakeholders.
  • Reporting publicly and annually on progress made towards these targets through own reporting platforms.
