Commitments:

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Happy Trails! Asia commits to:

  • Continuing their work within their supply chain, to train their partners and audit them on all aspects of sustainability including plastic and waste management/reduction for the next five years.

  • Advising and guiding affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to better manage plastics in their operations through practices, criteria, standards, and/or policies, and support them to implement their commitments to the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative when applicable.

  • Sharing with their clients the internal scoring regarding the overall sustainability practices of their operators.

Responsible tourism is at the heart of our operation. With third-party certifications, an extensive CSR program and a sustainable supply chain, we believe we lead by example towards more sustainable travel.
The various efforts we do reach throughout our integrated supply chain, and include being a founding member of the Indonesian DMC Sustainability collaboration, as well as conducting regular trainings, loan programs and CSR actions throughout our destinations.
Although our aim is to reduce emissions as much as possible, for the unavoidable emissions we proudly operate a carbon off-set scheme in the Indonesian part of the island of Borneo (Kalimantan).
In our project which we collaborate with local farmers. In this, we are a carbon-neutral and climate-neutral company, such as we have replanted more than 85.000 trees and still continued, implemented electricity and water conservation in all offices, reduced paper usage, managed and reduce waste, sustainable procurement and sustainable travel.
