Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism
City of Helsinki has been on the forefront of sustainable development for years. Helsinki was the first European city to deliver the sustainable development report to the United Nations and is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Helsinki was selected as the European Capital of Smart Tourism in 2019. This is to show, that Helsinki has been and is going to be one of the global leaders in sustainable development. The city and the tourism ecosystem around it realizes the enormous task at hand and this can be seen in the tourism strategy. When it comes to global warming, we must act now.
