Biozid Climate Institute

The Biozid Climate Institute is an NGO based in Bangladesh which focuses on capacity building and media awareness. The institute has organised workshops targeting youth and women on sustainable tourism practices and the reduction of plastic waste, and has launched media campaigns designed to raise awareness about the environmental impact of plastic pollution in tourism.

In the framework of the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative, Biozid Climate Institute commits to:

  • Encouraging affiliated organisations and businesses or partners to join the GTPI, aiming to invite and collaborate with 20 organisations to join the GTPI by 2030 (10 by the end of 2025).
  • Advising and guiding affiliated organisations, businesses or partners to better manage plastics in their operations by providing training and technical advice, aiming to organise 50 capacity-building workshops by 2030 (10 workshops by the end of 2026) focused on sustainable tourism practices and plastic waste reduction. These workshops will target diverse groups, including youth, women, and individuals with disabilities, to ensure inclusive participation. The institute also aims to implement at least five media campaigns about plastic pollution in tourism by the end of 2026.
  • Communicating successes to affiliated organisations and partners via their website.
  • Reporting publicly and annually on progress made towards these targets.
