Carol Cravero

Legal Affairs Officer

Ms. Carol Cravero is an Attorney-at-Law admitted to the Italian Bar in 2015 and holds a joint PhD cum Laude in Sustainable Development and Public Procurement Law from the University of Turin (Italy) and the University of Paris Nanterre (France). She currently works as a Legal Affairs Officer at the World Trade Organization (WTO) for the Government Procurement and Competition Policy Group – Intellectual Property, Government Procurement and Competition Division. Prior to this experience, she provided advice on legal and policy issues relating to sustainable public procurement, including capacity-building activities at national and international levels. She worked as the principal advisor to the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Development of Burkina Faso for the reform of their domestic procurement system with the aim of including sustainability principles and criteria in government procurement laws, policies and procedures. In 2020-2021, she participated in the reform of the Senegalese public procurement law, working for the African Development Bank Group. Since 2013 she has been working as a consultant for the United Nations (at the International Training Centre of the ILO and for IFAD-led projects).
