Nicholas Cox
Mr. Cox joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados in February 2010, after a career spanning 7 years as a Journalist and Assistant News Editor at the country’s oldest daily newspaper, The Barbados Advocate. He undertook his first posting at the Embassy of Barbados to the Kingdom of Belgium and Mission to the European Union, with concurrent responsibility for France, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg, from 2014 to 2023. During this period, Mr. Cox served in several different capacities, including Head of Consular, and Deputy Chief of Mission, additionally acted as Chargé d’Affaires a.i., for the period November 2022 to March 2023. Mr. Cox also served as Chargé d’Affaires a.i., of the Permanent Delegation of Barbados to UNESCO, from January 2019 to October 2023. In October 2023, Mr. Cox assumed duties at the Permanent Mission of Barbados to the United Nations at New York, now serving as Deputy Permanent Representative with responsibility for Second Committee and Fifth Committee matters.
