  • Published on April 9, 2024

The IKI Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) South South project, which was conducted from 2017 to 2023, was implement across two continents, in Colombia, Paraguay, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. A final report was published in September 2023, aimed at providing a thorough overview of the work done. The report begins by explaining the importance of changing the way food is produced and consumed. It then outlines the project strategy and provides a detailed summary of achievements in two main parts: one focusing on individual countries and the other on global efforts. Finally, insights into lessons learned are provided in the report.

The pressing need for a paradigm shift in our food production and consumption practices is responded to by the SCP project, part of the Future Food Together Initiative. This initiative, championed by WWF, offers an alternative vision for food systems and mobilizes a diverse array of stakeholders in recognition of the necessity for transformative actions. The initiative serves as a unifying force, connecting various dedicated WWF teams committed to advancing sustainable food systems both in the Global South and on the international and multilateral stages. During its first phase spanning from 2017 to 2023, the initiative was active in several countries, including Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Colombia, and Paraguay. Additionally, support for WWF’s global efforts in the realm of food policy was provided.
