Workshop report: integrating food systems transformation with climate, biodiversity, equity and nutrition agendas
On 13 December 2024, for 90 brief but motivational minutes, the WG and additional partners joined in a dynamic reflection moment to exchange upon their unique insights in attempting to link national agendas for agrifood systems transformation. 35 participants engaged in the open dialogue, enriched by diverse experiences from Costa Rica, Rwanda, Switzerland, the African region, and insights from WG’s key partners.
This document summarizes the key insights gathered concerning linking agendas in practice at the country level and identifies opportunities for continued learning.
The session emphasized strengthened collaboration; bravery and openness to untapped approaches and the shared pursuit of practical and systemic approaches to aligning food systems with climate, biodiversity, equity, and nutrition agendas at the country level.
Mixed experiences were shared, with several actors noting significant progress in linking agendas, but also stalled efforts and setbacks in various contexts – regionally, nationally, and sub-nationally. Stakeholders highlighted the need and opportunities to continue learning from each other in the WG and across geographies to navigate such delays and setbacks.
