Map to Find and Establish Credible Labels
Today, there are hundreds of ecolabels and certification schemes available for stakeholders to choose from, making it increasingly challenging to determine which labels are credible and which may be misleading or contribute to greenwashing.
This interactive map helps users navigate the complex landscape of ecolabels and certification schemes by bringing together practical resources in one place. It features tools to both Find Credible Labels—such as search engines, apps, and guides for identifying and comparing existing labels—and Establish Credible Labels, including frameworks and best-practice guidance for developing or strengthening ecolabels and certification schemes.
Designed for a broad audience, the map supports consumers making informed purchasing choices, public procurers setting sustainable procurement criteria, businesses selecting credible certifications, and public or private entities working to develop or improve ecolabels and certification schemes. By improving transparency and understanding, the map helps reduce greenwashing risks and supports more credible sustainability claims and decision-making.
