WWF Future Food Together is a response to the urgent change that is needed in the way we produce and consume food. This WWF initiative presents a different vision for food systems and rallies stakeholders around the need for transformative action.

The first phase of the project started in 2017 and came to an end in 2023 and included in-country teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Colombia and Paraguay, in addition to a team supporting WWF’s global efforts on the food agenda. A video was made to capture the highlights.

There is an urgent need to develop resilient food systems that promote both human well-being and planetary health. A consensus is emerging on the requirement for comprehensive solutions that embrace all interconnected aspects and participants within the food system, spanning from production to consumption and beyond.

For policymakers, this entails the development and expeditious implementation of integrated, cohesive, and cross-sectoral policies. Policymakers must discard compartmentalized approaches and address all dimensions of food, including agriculture, environmental conservation and restoration, consumer protection, equitable livelihoods, promotion of sustainable business models, education, and culture.

For businesses, this entails aligning their strategies with both the Sustainable Development Goals and planetary boundaries.

For each individual, this entails making more informed choices and advocating for healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.

The Future Food Together initiative mobilizes stakeholders at every level, fostering engagement and collaboration within international frameworks, as well as with governments, businesses, and consumers.
