Testing of bird- collision protection systems
We are testing the effectiveness of a collision protection solution, suitable for both residential and retrofit installation, which allows birds to avoid colliding with glass surfaces.
Over the past decades, numerous studies have shown that birds play a vital role in ecosystem maintenance, biodiversity conservation and the everyday life of chemical-free farming. Through their daily activities, these magnificent creatures destroy a wide range of pests, greatly contributing to chemical-free farming and production.
However, with increasing urbanisation trends, extensive glass surfaces, light and noise pollution pose a serious threat to our birds, which in some cases can be disorientating to a fatal degree. As they migrate, they are increasingly colliding with reflective glass surfaces and are dying out in their millions.
Such a decline in bird numbers is being felt by the natural system: species and numbers are declining, and the resulting climate change is leading to an increase in pests, the severity of the damage and the chemical response to it is seriously polluting the environment and human life and health.
That's why it's important to find solutions that we can incorporate into our everyday lives to protect our birds and help them survive. The solution currently being tested is the perfect way to prevent collisions in both institutional and private environments, saving millions of bird lives. This conservation action can help to promote proper cycling and environmental balance, contribute to the spread of chemical-free production practices and thus contribute to sustainable consumption.
Our birds are crucial for our future! It is time to protect them!
The Ecological Farm and Bird-Nest Box Station is working towards a long-term sustainable win-win partnership between humans and the environment. Our aim is to develop a production model based on bird-human cooperation, with sustainability and biodiversity conservation as a priority.
