The National Environment Action Plan for Sustainable Development (Plan d'Action National de l'Environnement pour le Développement Durable - PANEDD) 2024–2030 serves as a key reference framework for the environment and sustainable development sector in Madagascar. This strategic document reflects an ambitious vision for sustainable environmental emergence and outlines a sustained program as well as continuous improvement of interventions. It guides the priority actions of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (Ministère de l'Environnement et du Développement Durable - MEDD).The National Environment Action Plan for Sustainable Development (PANEDD) 2024–2030 serves as a key reference framework for the environment and sustainable development sector in Madagascar. This strategic document reflects an ambitious vision for sustainable environmental emergence and outlines a sustained program as well as continuous improvement of interventions. It guides the priority actions of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (MEDD).
The PANEDD is a major tool for guiding programming in the environmental field over the coming years, through seven (07) Strategic Axes:
  1. Sustainable Economy and Responsible Society
  2. Sustainable Financing
  3. Combating Pollution and Climate Change
  4. Reforestation, Restoration, and Conservation of landscapes and forests
  5. Green Diplomacy and Partnerships
  6. Improvement of Governance
  7. Information, Education, Communication, and Research
To accelerate the implementation of activities planned for the 2024–2030 period, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, through this Action Plan, aims to undertake reforms and concrete actions in several essential areas: circular economy and green administration, carbon markets and climate change mitigation, sustainable natural resource management and waste valorization, as well as large-scale restoration of degraded land.
