Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999 (RA 8749)
The law aims to formulate a holistic national program of air pollution management and encourage cooperation and self-regulation among citizens and industries through market-based instruments.
The Act mandates the (a) implementation of air quality action plan that includes emission limits, monitoring and control strategies; and (b) development of an integrated air quality improvement framework at the local level, among others.
